Orphan Black S1 EP 1-4

    Orphan black revolves around protagonist Sarah Manning. At the very start of the show, Sarah witnesses a woman who appears identical to herself jump in front of a train, ultimately ending her own life. Attempting to escape the dark reality of her crime-ridden past, Sarah discreetly takes the woman's purse from the scene, then proceeds to take over her life. In doing this, she faked her own death with the hopes of something better. Sarah, now taking on the name and identity of Beth Childs, quickly discovers Beth's life is not as favorable as she had hoped. Sarah soon finds herself in the middle of a court hearing as a consequence of Beth's actions in the police force. Sarah tries to remain composed despite being unaware of the details pertaining to this case. She learns Beth fired on the line of duty and killed an innocent civilian. 

    After a long battle, Sarah (Beth) is reinstated to the police department. This is where things begin to thicken for Beth. She soon discovers there are others out there like her. Upon meeting the other women identical to her, she is informed that they were cloned as part of an expirement. To this point, the characters are uncertain of the technical aspect of the situation, yet they know that matching DNA was implanted into various carriers, resulting in these women being genetically identical. Battling to find her footing in her new identity, Beth also learns that her and the other clones are being hunted down and killed. Beth must now work to protect her facade as a police officer while simultaneously trying to unveil the truth behind their circumstances.
